Other Software
Some of our learning resources have been developed in other AAC software, Mind Express and Clicker 8. Our resources developers, teachers and teaching assistants receive training on other software to ensure they maintain an up-to-date knowledge and skill-set in a variety of AAC software and practices.
Mind Express
Mind express is a text and symbol communication tool for AAC users. It is flexible and versatile and can be used for everyday communication and as a therapeutic and educational tool.
CandLE have students who use mind express as their primary communication software and in these cases, Mind Express will also be used for their curriculum support. This is to ensure consistency for the student to suit their access needs and to ensure they have an efficient communication system to support their learning.
CandLE’s Literacy programme, Phonics For All, is available in Mind Express.
Clicker 8 & Docs Plus
Clicker 8 and Docs Plus are both writing programmes made by Crick Software. Clicker 8 is aimed towards primary level students where as Docs Plus is for more advanced writers that still benefit from the support the software gives them. Both software are used widely in schools with all students.
The software comes with a library of free resources and words can be input with ease to create subject specific resources to enhance the users writing experience.
CandLE resource developers are currently working on a Clicker 8 version of Phonics For All which is coming soon.
