Resource Development
CandLE has a team of resource developers that are dedicated to producing learning resources for the students we support. As well as developing our own learning programmes, we also adapt well known resources and textbooks. These resources are available for all CandLE students.
CandLE resource developers are specialists in adapting learning materials to suit particular interests, subjects and access needs using specialist AAC software such as Grid 3, Clicker 8 and Mind Express.
We have an ever expanding library of resources which is shared with our students and staff all over the country and are consistently working on new and innovative ways to develop resources.
We are able to provide support to families and schools who are looking for help with adaptation and any specific resource development requests.
Our resource development covers accessible curriculum materials, literacy programmes, books and communication tools.
Our library of accessible books includes the full Harry Potter series and the Lemony Snicket series. We have devised a level 1-6 system with our books to ensure that we have books available for any reader as well as having a number of the GCSE English Literature books.
We have also adapted accessible versions of widely used learning resources and textbooks including Read Write Inc, GCP and Oxford Press.
